Compare this picture to a similar one taken in 1912

 

This 180° picture was taken about an hour after sunrise during the first week of 2001.
The location was at the base of the green water tank above Rohnerville Road at School Street.
The ocean is visible at the Valley opening, and Ferndale lies straight ahead at the base of the Wildcat.
The airport is at the left side of the picture and downtown Fortuna is above my shadow on the right side.
